What is a Timing Belt?

Keeping your car in good working condition means having all the parts serviced on a regular basis or replaced if necessary. This could save your life when it comes to some of the more crucial components of a car's operation. One of them is the timing belt.

A timing belt is the part of the car that is responsible for synchronizing the camshaft and the crankshaft so they can turn with each other at a consistent rate. These replaced timing chains in the 1970s. If it breaks and you do not fix it as soon as possible, then this can cause serious damage to your engine. Get a new belt every 60,000 to 100,000 miles to ensure your engine stays running.

If your timing belt needs to be repaired or replaced, then bring your car down to Honda of Tysons Corner and let one of our technicians fix it for you.
